Grand Canyon - West and Skywalk
A quick word of advice - never bother with The Grand Canyon - West. It's Rubbish.
You drive out of Vegas and get a little disheartened when you see the 220 Miles to Grand Canyon sign, but that is Grand Canyon East (Latterly known as "the good bit") so when you see a sneaky sign that the Red Indians, sorry, Native Americans, have put up posting the way tyo Grand Canyon West and Skywalk 40 miles you think "BONUS!!!"
It goes badly from there, however, and soon you are driving through the middle of the Majave desert in conditions not too unlike a level from Sega Rally - the only different being that any damage to the car means that the Hire Company is gonna start referring to their "don't ruin the car" smallprint.
Anyway, Hours and Miles and Muddy-Grimness later, you reach the Westrim - and it is closed and expensive. Foggy and overpriced. Misty and Extortionate.
Only on later inspection, back in the UK, do you realise this is common knowledge.
